FLYING IN THE WIRE AND OBSTACLE ENVIRONMENT COURSE

The Flying In The Wire and Obstacle Environment Course provides specialised training in the recognition, awareness and avoidance of wires and other obstacles.
The course incorporates dedicated Human Factors Training, examining the visual, perceptual and cognitive limitations that can affect a person’s ability to detect hazards at low level, while providing practical countermeasures to reduce the risk of a wire or obstacle strike.
Participants also receive targeted Crew Resource Management (CRM) Training relevant to low-level operations, strengthening communication, situational awareness, assertiveness and shared decision-making. Through disciplined reconnaissance techniques, practical threat-recognition strategies and effective CRM principles, the course equips aviation personnel with the knowledge and tools to better identify hazards, manage risk and operate safely in one of aviation’s most demanding environments.
